The Setting
A quiet stretch of the West Sussex coast
East Preston is a small, unpretentious coastal village on the West Sussex plain, tucked between the better-known resorts of Worthing and Littlehampton. Its beaches are calm, its streets quiet. The quality of the light — flat, marine, always shifting — is one of the reasons painters and architects have long been drawn to this stretch of coast.
Vista Point sits moments from the sea, screened from the road by mature planting. From the garden, the view is entirely of sky, grass, and water. In summer, the beach is a short walk through a gap in the dunes. In winter, the house turns inward — warm, still, and very quiet.
Arundel, Chichester, and Goodwood are all within easy reach, and London is accessible without a car — the train from Angmering reaches Victoria in just over an hour.
